Parts of a Magazine Cover

  1. Masthead-The name of the magazine
  2. Dateline-Month and year of publication
  3. Main image-The front cover image big enough to stand out on the news-stand
  4. Model credit-The subjects name  
  5. Cover line- Text which are distributed around the main image without detracting from it too much.
  6. Main cover line-This is very large text taking up almost a quarter of the magazine cover 
  7. Bar code-Standard bar code used by retailers often include publication date and price
  8. Cover lines- Text which are distributed around the main image without detracting from it too much.
  9. Selling line-Short, sharp description of the title's main marketing point
  10. Left third-The title must stand out in this part of the magazine. It is vital for sales in shops where the magazine is not shown full-frontage
